Opening…Post!
Hello Tumblr (Wow, why am I speaking to the blog as if it were a person…anyways.)
Like my blog description so directly stated, this is a blog about my summer. I’ve been out of school for exactly a week now so I’ll try to think back and quickly brief you on what I’ve been up to since then.
Saturday: Took the SAT in the morning (I think I did better this time around), met up with my best friend, had fro-yo, and somehow ended up at in-and-out’s at Fisherman’s Warf.
Sunday: Watched five movies (the most I’ve ever watched in a matter of one day). What movies? I’m ashamed to say: Dear John, Letters to Juliet, She’s the Man, Step Up, and Another Cinderella Story.
Monday: I honestly don’t remember what I did on Monday…could I possibly have some kind of memory recall issue (learned that from Brissa).
Tuesday: Had a doctor’s appointment…I really hate the hospital. Also, if it weren’t for my big mouth I wouldn’t have informed my doctor about traveling this summer, which would have prevented me from getting the typhoid shot. The nurse by the way lied to me when I asked if it would hurt. Why? Well an hour later I could barely move it at all.
And how can I forget! I came over to Brissa’s house to bake things for our picnic the following day. We got a bunch of laughs in her kitchen, too bad the food didn’t go as well. Let’s just say the scones came out soft, but tasteless; the lemon bars formed, but were too sour; and the chocolate pudding turned out to be more like a chocolate bar.
Wednesday: Picnic day! I woke up late and rushed over to Brissa’s (turned out I could have been a little later because they weren’t ready either). We tried to have an “Alice in Wonderland” themed tea party…let’s just say we tried our best. We took about a hundred pictures and had about a thousand laughs. I forgot how great it felt to hang out with my old friends. After that I saw Iron Man 2 with Laura. I don’t remember how good the first one was so I can’t compare, but I can say that I wasn’t impressed by it.
Thursday: I met up with Aira, a friend from Daly City. We had breakfast at Starbucks, hung out in my room, and bought friendship bracelets downtown. I sent her home early because I needed to volunteer at my aunt’s office for a bit. Nothing too strenuous, just good old filing.
Friday: I finished the rest of the filing at my aunt’s work then met up with my mom for dinner and to do some last minute shopping for gifts to give the people in the Philippines.
Saturday (today): I woke up nice and early and met up with Maisy, a friend from school. We went to Cocola, my favorite café in the mall. I ordered a mini cake because it’s her birthday tomorrow. We walked around downtown for a bit, I wasted more money on accessories, and then it was time to say good bye. By noon I was bound for another mall, Stonestown. There I met with Chai and again we walked around and sat down for fruit smoothies at the food court.
Now that I think about it, if this week were the last week I had to live this is exactly what I would do. I wouldn’t do anything outrageous or wild, I would just spend everyday with the people I love (ok cheesy I know) and just talk.
However, I am not off to die (or at least I hope not). No, I’m off to the Philippines for a month and a half long vacation. I’m excited I guess. I’m probably just experiencing that routine feeling of waiting for this day to come and then not wanting to go once it’s finally here. Nevertheless, I know that in just a few hours I’ll be in the airport and on my way to the islands. I’ll make the most of it. Life truly is short (I sense myself getting dramatic watch out) and it shouldn’t be spent quarreling with people and definitely not sitting idly at home. I’ve decided. I’m going to pretend to be a journalist off to some foreign country and I can’t wait to see what adventures this summer trip holds!
‘Till next time,
Bon Voyage!
